InternetworkExpert – CCIE Routing Switching

he Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification may be the most challenging and prestigious of all networking certifications. It has received numerous awards, and certainly has built a reputation as one of the most difficult certifications to earn in all of the computing world. Having a CCIE certification opens doors professionally, typically results in higher pay, and looks great on a resume.

Cisco currently offers several CCIE certifications, with several others that are no longer offered. The following list details the currently available CCIE certifications as of the time of publication of this book; check http://www.cisco.com/go/ccie for the latest information. The certifications are listed in the order in which they were made available to the public:

- CCIE Routing and Switching

- CCIE Security

- CCIE Service Provider (formerly known as Communications and Services)

- CCIE Voice

- CCIE Storage Networking

Each of the CCIE certifications requires the candidate to pass both a written exam and a one-day hands-on lab exam. The written exam is intended to test your knowledge of theory, protocols, and configurations that follow good design practices. The lab exam proves that you can configure and troubleshoot actual lab gear.

CBTNuggets – Cisco CCDA Exam-Pack 640-863 DESGN

CBTNuggets – Cisco CCDA Exam-Pack 640-863 DESGN

There’s an old saying that goes “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions helps you learn how to plan a LAN/WAN infrastructure using analysis and modeling techniques to design a network using Cisco components.

This CCDA training is cutting edge and focuses on the newest Cisco PDIOO (Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, Optimize) analysis and methodology as well as teaching Cisco Enterprise Composite Network Modeling as the next generation beyond the Cisco 3-layer Design (Access/Distribution/Core). You’ll learn modular analysis and modeling along with the newest multilayer switching technology, routing essentials, IP telephony, IP addressing with NAT and IPv6, Management and more.

Instructor Michael Shannon has broken the topics down into easy to understand segments filled with information that you can readily put to use on the job. If you are already certified as a CCNA, this training will give you a lot of background and theory on network design to make you a more knowledgeable and effective IT professional.

Exam 640-863 DESGN is the only exam required to earn the Cisco Certified Design Associate certification. A basic understanding of Cisco networking such as a CCNA certification or equivalent knowledge is recommended before viewing these videos. The training contains 16 videos providing more than 11 hours of instruction.

Cisco CCNP Certification Package

Contains BSCI, BCMSN, ISCW, and ONT

$599.00 – Includes 93 Videos

Stand out from your peers as a Cisco Certified Network Professional

If you work on Cisco networks and want to really stand out as a networking professional, then the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is for you.

Today’s CCNP certification proves to employers that you can deploy and manage Cisco networks that support the convergence of data, voice, and other rich media traffic on both wired and wireless networks — all while maintaining the high levels of security businesses need. And with all this, you’re able to keep the network up and running around the clock — minimizing the risk of service interruption.

It sounds like a big task but with the right training, you’ll be up to it. In the Cisco CCNP Certification Package, expert instructor Jeremy Cioara takes you through and teaches you both on-the-job skills and the knowledge you need to get certified. He’s fun to learn from, very informative, and best of all he gives you skills you can use to boost your career.

The Cisco CCNP Certification Package contains these exam-packs:

Exam-Pack: 642-901 BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks)

The BSCI series, at its core, is all about routing. You’ll immerse yourself in the features and functionalities of Cisco routers. This includes deploying, managing, and optimizing the performance of Cisco routers. Major topics in this series include EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, Advanced Routing, BGP, Multicast, and IPv6.

Exam-Pack: 642-812 BCMSN (Building Converged Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks)

BCMSN is all about deploying, managing, and optimizing Cisco switches. You’ll learn the role of switches in your Cisco network, including smart network design for today’s networking needs. Major topics in this series include VLANs, STP, Ether Channel, Layer 3 Switching, Redundancy, Wireless LANs, Campus VoIP, and Campus Security.

Exam-Pack: 642-825 ISCW (Implementing Secure Converged Wide Area Networks)

In the ISCW series you’ll learn how to create and manage secure, robust remote access solutions. In today’s world of frequent telecommuting and distant offices throughout the globe, this topic is getting bigger than ever. Major topics you’ll learn include understanding WAN technologies, Multiprotocol Label Switching, configuring IPSec VPNs, and securing your network.

Exam-Pack: 642-845 ONT (Optimizing Converged Cisco Networks)

The ONT series covers how to configure your network to support rich media traffic including Voice over IP and video conferencing. The throughput and quality of service required for these technologies is higher than normal data traffic, and requires these advanced skills. Major topics in this series include understanding and implementing VoIP technologies, managing Quality of Service, and the special considerations for supporting convergence technologies on wireless networks.

Passing the Windows Server 2008 70-649 exam offers you a certification bonanza. 70-649 is a composite, multiple-choice exam — with questions drawn from three other Server 2008 tests. (There are no simulations or interactive questions.) Passing it immediately earns you three MCTS certifications:

* Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuring 70-640

* Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuring 70-642

* Windows Server 2008 App/Infrastructure Configuring 70-643

What’s more, after passing the (70-649) you’re poised to quickly complete both of the following MCITP certifications:

* MCITP Server Administration

* MCITP Enterprise Administration

You can earn MCITP Server Administration certification by passing just one additional exam:

* Windows Server 2008: Server Admin. 70-646 We are developing training for this exam (estimated availability: 2nd quarter 2009 — or before).

You can earn MCITP Enterprise Administrator Certification by passing just two additional exams:

* Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Administrator 70-647 We are developing training for this exam (estimated availability: 2nd quarter 2009 — or before)

* Either Microsoft Windows Configuring 70-620

or Deploying and Maintaining Windows Vista Client 70-624. We offer training for both, but Tim recommends 70-620 as the easier exam.
